(West Palm Beach, FL -- March 1, 2009) ... If you were to walk into a West Palm Beach condo or
assisted living facility and bump into Johnny Martini, you might think he was the recreation director, dressed in his
slick tuxedo and sporting a full head of perfectly-coiffed silver-gray hair.
But when Johnny Martini starts to croon, you realize that he could be a snazzy 52-year-old reincarnation of Dean
Martin, belting out tunes like Volare, Rio Bravo, Return to Me, and just Just Say I Love Her to an audience of swooning
senior ladies and their appreciative husbands.
How did such a young man develop this appreciation of Dean Martin? Johnny has been singing like Dino since he was a
child in Michigan in the 1960s. "Dad had one Dean Martin album and I listened to it over and over so I guess it kind of
rubbed off on me."
But that's where the resemblance ends. While working on developing his career, Johnny also works hard as the owner of
Window Magic, a local window washing company. And unlike Dean Martin, Johnny Martini swigs a different drink during his
performances: lemon juice! "It's for my throat and vocal chords" explains Johnny. "I sing about 20 to 25 songs per show
and the lemon juice helps the throat stay fresh....as well as my breath: I kiss almost every woman in the crowd." He
also shakes every gentleman's hand. Throughout the show, Johnny roams the audience and talks to them and kisses the
ladies.
Besides playing to Dino's fans in the greatest generation, Johnny Martini is also reaching for the stars.
Last month, he traveled from West Palm Beach to Atlanta, to
participate in auditions for the NBC TV show "America's Got Talent."
While waiting for Hollywood to call, Johnny is keeping busy performing to older audiences throughout south Florida,
folk who have fond memories of the Rat Pack. Crowds are always very appreciative. "They all come up after the show to
talk and get another hug and kiss and some hang around while we are packing up to talk or get another kiss and another
kiss. Its very hard to leave" adds Johnny.
Johnny Martini is now available for advance
bookings in Arizona. Call Pattie at 480-299-9144 or
